Peabody House Deluxe Room

Hoop skirts were a staple of a colonial woman’s wardrobe but they were likely not very comfortable and a bit awkward. As you enter the Peabody House, note the smaller door next to the main entrance. This door would be opened so that a hoop skirt could appropriately fit through the entrance.
